She has been performing and composing for over four decades of her life.  Karen Briggs has performed and/or recorded with everyone from The Royal Philharmonic to Yanni to Stanley Clarke to Diana Ross to Ledisi to Kirk Franklin to Annie Lennox to the Wu-Tang Clan or even to her own Contempo Orchestra!  She is versatile in her career skills which include: bandleader, music and show producer.

 

She has performed all over the globe as a featured soloist.  Having graced the stages of such prestigious venues as the Apollo Theater, Carnegie Hall, The Taj Mahal and China's Forbidden City and others, she has traveled to over 50 countries to entertain audiences, covering a range of music styles.  As an early elite in the evolution of the contemporary violinist, the award winning musician has been an inspiration for many aspiring musicians. 

Clever arrangements on covers such as Freddie Hubbard's "Little Sunflower", Rimsky Korsakov's "Scheherazade","Amazing Grace" and Coolio's  

"Gangsta's Paradise" (Hidden Beach's Unwrapped) have not been ignored. She easily covers an array of genres on the instrument from gospel to jazz to R&B to pop, hip hop and classical pieces, all re-imagined in a way that suits her skillful and soulful swagger on her instrument.

Currently regarded by many as one of the most legendary violinists of our time, Karen has continuously proven to be an asset to any project that she's participated in.

To date, Karen has performed in nineteen video concerts around the world.  She has recorded two independent solo projects, (Amazing Grace and Soulchestral Groove) with a third highly anticipated project entitled,

"Sonic Woodwork for Contempo Orchestra" due out in 2024!

Karen is also founder of the 12 - piece Contempo Orchestra whose successful 2024 debut took place near Atlanta, GA at the Stockbridge Amphitheater.
